STYLE Winter Fashion

Red Hot Boots

Before I invest in any new piece of clothing or must-have accessory, I make sure that it is versatile enough to style in many different ways with the things I currently have. It’s not only a responsible way to add new pieces into your wardrobe, but also starts any new purchase off with tons of great ways to style it!

Today I’m sharing another way to style a black leather moto jacket. In case you missed the first way I styled it, you can see my date night look here. Today’s look, however, is a bit more casual for everyday wear but could also just as easily be worn to brunch with friends or dinner out on a Friday night (which is how I wore this look).

Since the transition between winter and “true” spring can be a little non-existent (read: sunny but still cold), I liked the idea of pairing a sleeveless sweater with this leather jacket. Sleeveless sweaters are my favorite way to combat tricky in-between weather. This sleeveless sweater is an oldie from J. Crew Factory, but there are tons of newer versions out this year–like this one. (Madewell is another great place to find sweater tanks!) I love that this one in particular has a chunky turtleneck detail that not only provides warmth (I’m essentially fully covered when the jacket is on), but also adds a super classy touch. Is it just me or do turtlenecks feel dressier than other styles?

And let’s talk about these red boots for a moment. How fun, right?! When I was first considering getting them (back before Christmas), I wasn’t sure if I’d be able to pair them with enough looks to justify purchasing them. So I sat on it and kept them in the back of my mind for awhile. I’m finding that sitting on purchases is the best way to avoid impulse buys and regretting purchases later. At any rate, as time went by I couldn’t stop thinking about them and continued to come up with new ways I could style them. One of my favorites was with a black bodysuit and a long red pleated skirt for the holidays. Yess!!

So long story short (as you may have guessed), I decided to get them and I’m so glad I did! Red boots are such a fun way to instantly jazz up an outfit and add a fun pop of color. And red is such a classic color that I can’t imagine them going out of style any time soon.

Back to this amazing leather moto jacket…I mean, do you love it as much as I do?! I love that it can instantly add edge and polish to a simple sweater and jeans look. And trust me, if I can pull off the leather jacket look, anyone can! I am by no means what you would consider “edgy” by nature haha!  But I love how cool this look makes me feel.
