Fall Paisley Blouse

It’s no secret that I’m very into browns, greens, and golds this fall. So when I found a pretty paisley blouse that combined all my favorite fall colors into a single piece, I knew it would quickly become a seasonal favorite!

You may remember me talking about my first Doen blouse in this post last month. I was so excited to finally find a cotton (read: breathable) long-sleeve top for that pesky transitional time between summer and fall when it’s still very hot outside but you want to dress a little more for the season.

Because my first Doen top was such a hit, I decided to add another one from their collection in a more fall-inspired color palette.

The Jane Blouse is a billowy and flowy cut which is super comfortable (and forgiving) to wear. Since the shape can be a little overwhelming, I usually do a little front tuck into my high-waisted jeans to accentuate my waist. I also love that this Anita Paisley print is the perfect color combo that can pair just as easily with blue jeans, black pants, or even my favorite sienna wide leg crops (similar to Becky’s look here). Can you say versatile?! It’s truly the perfect combination of fall colors.

And while I personally LOVE to add patterns into my looks, this one is subtle enough for even those who might be hesitant to bring a bold print into their wardrobe. The colors mesh so well together that it can be styled as a neutral in your outfit.

P.S. – If you want more outfit inspiration with this blouse, Lee styled it multiple ways in her most recent Fall 10×10 Challenge here.

The blouse is made of the same cotton material as my other blouse, so it’s super breathable on warmer days. But I also love pairing it here with a long sweater cardigan in the prettiest chocolate brown color on cooler days. Layers are truly your best friend in the fall.

For some fun, classy elements I added on a gold pendant necklace and these fantastic metallic leather mules (which are so much fun to wear!). I’m honestly not much of a mules girl, but because these have a small heel, they look particularly chic and feminine from the front. (Think: ankle boots without the back.)

    Hi Kristin,

Can I ask what size you are wearing here in the Doen Jane Blouse? I just purchased the exact same top in an XS (only size left in this same paisley print and I am typically an XS or S). Hoping it isn’t too small!!

    Thank you,

    Courtney

Hi, Courtney! Yes, of course! I’m wearing a small in the Doen Jane Blouse and I typically wear a small in other Doen tops. The Jane Blouse feels very roomy and billowy up top, so I find for me, I like tucking it in to my jeans to make it look a little less overwhelming with all the fabric. So if you decide to try it in the small and it feels a little big on your frame (untucked), you might be able to tuck it in and be happier with the fit. Let me know if you end up trying it and what you think! I hope this helps! 🙂
