Spring Fashion STYLE

Floral Notes

Spring is in the air, friends! And I couldn’t be more excited. It’s finally time to add in fun punches of color and feminine floral prints to my wardrobe. As such, today’s outfit is a typical look I would wear to the office on a casual Friday in spring.Floral Summer Night Out Look | www.cupcakesandthecosmos.com

I’m all about ease and comfort when it comes to Casual Friday attire (read previous Casual Friday post), and that’s something that doesn’t change from season to season.

Once springtime hits though, I have a pretty regular outfit uniform that includes a silky button-up top + cardigan + jeans and lots of florals! On any given day, you can usually find me in some variation of this outfit. What can I say? It just works!

This silky floral top is from J. Crew Factory a few years ago, but they always come out with an updated print each year that is so cute and colorful. I am always so impressed with just how well J. Crew Factory seems to understand my innate need for bright colors and punchy prints in spring and summer. They just get me! At any rate, this is one top I never tire of wearing and will likely own for a very long time.

Another closet staple that I have soooo many colors of is the Clare cardigan. I love how they are just so simple to throw on over a top and can completely change the vibe depending on the color combination. For instance, I paired a bright green cardigan here with this floral top, but I could’ve easily paired a deep red or purple cardigan to pair with the pink tones of the top or even a bright yellow cardigan as a contrasting color option. The choices are endless! I’ve also been a fan of their newer Caryn cardigan that has loner sleeves for those with a chilly office!

For accessories, I paired the look with a fun sparkly bracelet and a simple gold necklace. And I pulled out a classic pair of cognac heeled sandals for shoes to add a little leg-lengthening aspect while still enabling the bright beautiful floral print to shine.

And that’s a peek inside my springtime casual Friday uniform. Simple to put together but bright and punchy enough to satisfy my excitement for spring!
