Ah…Christmastime, the most wonderful time of the year! I can’t wait to be home with family for Christmas, and I love picking out that special outfit for Christmas morning with everyone.
My mom and her sister switch off between hosting the family for Christmas. This year it’s my Aunt’s turn, so I’m excited to have the opportunity to pick out an outfit that’s not only comfortable during the day, but also travels well since we’ll be driving to another location. (read: opportunity for cute shoes!)
Enter a super cozy and luxe sweater dress with the prettiest laced-up detail. Sometimes wearing a sweater and jeans, while practical for the outdoors, can get hot and uncomfortable inside. But opting for a sweater dress keeps you warm without being stifling. Plus, a dress leaves plenty of room for lots of Christmas turkey and stuffing and mashed potatoes…Am I right?
A dress also gives me the opportunity to style my over-the-knee boots for a slightly more dressy look that still has enough casual comfort for Christmas morning. And as an added bonus, these over-the-knee boots will keep your legs warm when traveling.
And can you believe I got these boots at Target?! I had my eye on these Sam Edelman beauties for a while, but wanted to make sure I would get enough use out of them. So I opted for a less expensive version this year and have been wearing them non-stop recently. They are so good!
For jewelry, I kept things simple with a pretty gold bangle and my favorite classic watch. The lace-up detail of the dress stands in for the perfect necklace-like statement.
I also pinned my hair back with bobbi pins for optimal chow down factor. Ha! But seriously…
And that’s what I’ll be wearing on Christmas morning this year! (At least after the initial opening of presents from Santa in my pj’s. 😛 )
