Going Green

Happy Tuesday, friends! Today is all about going green–in style that is! Most times when people put together monochromatic looks, it’s in a neutral color palette–like all gray or all white. It is definitely a safe option, but who says you can’t go all bright?!

When I first saw this neon green skirt, I was hesitant to make the plunge–I wanted to make sure I would get enough use out of it for the price (even on sale). But just like my mustard yellow clutch, it’s one of those colors that is surprisingly versatile (last seen here) and can completely change the tone of an outfit (in a great way!).

I love how it brightened up my green-on-green-on-green outfit here, and actually serves as a contrasting shade that adds dimension to the whole look and really makes the darker greens pop!

To keep with the theme of going green, I paired the ensemble with a floral clutch that brings in beautiful shades of red and orange with bright pops of pink. I love how the pink and green give this look a playful springtime feel–so much so that I added in other elements of magenta, like my favorite shade of pink lipstick and a fun pink enamel bracelet too. If you couldn’t tell…the enamel bracelet (last seen here) has quickly become my go-to jewelry this summer for its bright pop of color and its simple yet flawless execution. I’m obsessed with this cute citrus one here.

As a continued play on the green theme, I added in a unique necklace, whose gold spiral detailing reminds me of the intricate patterns of vines on the sides of old buildings in upscale neighborhoods. And I love how the white and gold color combination of the necklace is noncompeting with the other bright colors of the outfit. It’s the perfect complementary piece and proves that tiny detailing can still play a wholly unifying role in an outfit.

Love you, and the bright colors you put together. So much of the time, in the industry I am in, women wear only black, or dark colors. Nice to see colors put together in a professional manner for office wear, as well as after hr fun times.
