Happy Friday, friends! Guess what day it is?! It’s DAY 10 DAY 10!! of the Summer 10×10 Challenge, which means today is the last outfit of this summer’s wardrobe remix. Today’s look was a classic with a traditional blue button-up paired with a pencil skirt for the perfect last day of work outfit.
Today’s look came together pretty organically on its own. Since most of my wardrobe was packed up for the move back to Colorado (save but a few remaining pieces of my 10×10 picks), it didn’t take long to pick this sleeveless blue top (last styled here) and this pencil skirt.
I knew that the day would be filled with lots of last minute exit meetings and impromptu farewells, so I wanted to make sure to look my best. And this look definitely fit the bill. I felt put together and confident while remaining completely comfortable in these pieces all day long.
While this outfit isn’t one I’d consider to be earth-shattering or new, I love that it’s a no-fail look I can always come back to and feel like I’ve got a winner. It doesn’t get more classic than a button up blouse and a pencil skirt for me. It’s my go-to professional look of choice when I’m in need of something that leaves a good impression.
And even though the pairing is classic, modern touches like the floral print of the skirt or the sleeveless cut of the blouse keep things feeling fresh and current.
To add some fun, colorful flair, I paired the look with a bright yellow cardigan and a bubblegum pink purse. I love how carefree and whimsical the blue-yellow-pink combination turned out to be. So summery and fun!
And yes!…work wear can be colorful and fun just the same as casual wear!
