Spring 10×10 Outfit 8

Day 8, friends. Day 8! Can you believe it?! Only a couple more days to go in the Spring 10×10 Challenge and I still have so many more thoughts and looks to share with you. Playing with the idea of going 2-3 days extra. How would you guys feel about that? Let me know in the comments below!

Today’s Day 8 look was all about comfort for a long day of studying and working at the office. Simple classics like a sweater and jeans are my go-to choices!

For days when I have a lot of work to get through I reach for pieces that are loose, flowy, and no-fuss like this lightweight sweater. It’s one of those pieces that can be layered with warmer tops if needed or worn as is like I did today. And to be honest, this look is the simplest, coziest outfit I’ve put together in this challenge so far. And for that reason, is one of my favorites! (Can I wear this outfit every day?)

For styling this sweater, I layered it here with a lacy bralette that just peeks out from behind the deep-v neck line. It’s casual with a little playfulness. Perfect for an impromptu date night or even just when you want to feel a little fancier in a basic sweater.

For today’s styling at the office, however, I simply layered it over a classic white striped tee and added a few fun beaded necklaces for color and texture. (Just picked up this set for summer and have already worn it so much!) Since receiving a beautiful dainty necklace from Allen for Christmas (and wearing it every day since), I have been gravitating more towards layering similarly dainty necklaces with it for variety, as opposed to my old ways of wearing more eye-catching statement jewelry. Perhaps this is a sign of my style tastes changing?  Who can say for now, but it’s definitely the style I’m into at the moment. (Getting fancy jewelry from the boyfriend does that I guess! 😉 )

I love that this look is polished enough for a casual day at the office, but could just as easily be worn on the weekend to run errands and eat dinner out somewhere. Just substitute in a cute satchel (for a giant backpack) and you’re ready to go! Simple as that.

Also, a quick note on these jeans. I haven’t talked much about them (first post with them here), but they have seriously become my favorite pair of jeans since getting them late last year. They are a dark wash skinny jean from 7 For All Mankind. If you aren’t familiar with the brand, it’s a designer brand, meaning that they are kind of on the pricier side of things but are supposed to be made of higher quality material and with a better fit than other less expensive jeans. And to be honest, when my mom first got them for me as a gift, I wasn’t so sure about them given the price. I mean…why spend that much money on a pair of jeans?!

But as soon as I tried them on (no joke), I was instantly sold. More than needing new jeans (because let’s be honest, I already own tons of pairs and really have no complaints with any them), these just feel…better! And honestly you might be thinking…how can jeans feel better, Kristin? Yeah, I had the same thought before trying these too. They are just so unbelievable soft on the inside (think sweatpants in jean form), which means they feel incredible on. And they have the perfect amount of stretch so I don’t feel constricted throughout the day, but also not too much so they don’t lose their shape either.

And just to get this out there, this is totally unsponsored! I just thought this might be a helpful review for someone out there like me who never understood the hype around designer jeans before. (And keep in mind, I own one pair of designer jeans so really this is just a single review. 😉 But I thought it may be helpful nonetheless! )  Like I mentioned, these are definitely an investment piece (for my budget at least), but I’ve been exceedingly happy with them and would highly recommend them to anyone in the market for a high-quality skinny jean that you can wear days on end without tiring of. (Truth: Sometimes I do laundry just so that I can wear these, even with a closet full of other jeans to wear!) I’m wearing the ankle length version, but would probably recommend the full length style for any first time buyers. I’ve linked the most similar ones I can find below (and a few of them are on crazy sale)!

And as a quick styling note… If you noticed, I again rolled the hems in small cuffs to give it a spring-y albeit polished look. Simple but does the trick!

That’s my Day 8 look. See you tomorrow for Day 9! (And let me know below if you’d like to see 2-3 additional outfits from this challenge next week!) P.S. – They are some of my favorite looks!
