Cozy Knits in Beaver Creek

A few weeks back, my family and I went on our annual ski trip in Beaver Creek, Colorado (mentioned here). And to say it was magical would be an understatement. I love getting away to the mountains and exploring all the cozy Colorado towns. There’s just something so exciting yet relaxing about snowy weekends here. So today I’m sharing my go-to look for exploring these quaint village towns and I’ll start by saying it’s all about layering those super cozy knits!

Since moving to Colorado (from Texas), I’ve learned the importance of having a strong arsenal of sweaters to wear throughout the winter. I was recently on the hunt for simple everyday sweaters that I could pair with jeans and be out the door within a matter of minutes–ones that both looked cute but also got the job done. When a Colorado winter becomes your every day, the warmth of a sweater becomes key (I learned that the hard way).

Enter in this perfectly soft and cozy cable knit sweater. I love that it’s simple and classic without any fuss…exactly what I was looking for. And you can never go wrong with a forever color like cream because it pairs well with everything.

I paired the sweater with my new favorite jeans (thanks, mom!) and my boots with the fur (que music 😛 ). These boots are a little crazy and over the top, but I think that’s why I love them so much. They definitely aren’t my normal style, but when it’s in the negative digits, sometimes you just want to surround yourself in a little faux fur in a funky style to keep warm. And I mean…who’s going to judge you, right?! Not me!

And finally I layered on the prettiest purple-maroon-evergreen scarf from Eddie Bauer. My mom and I got matching ones for Christmas from Santa, so I was so excited to take it for a spin during our trip. And if the colors didn’t sell you on it…the softness will! There’s something so magical about wrapping yourself up in a luxurious scarf when it’s cold outside, no?

Like I mentioned above, I wore this look while walking around the Village at Beaver Creek. Paired with my favorite puffer coat (seen here), it was the perfect little outfit to explore the shops and cafes there and watch all the kiddos spinning and twirling on the ice rink.

We grabbed lattes at Rimini (that also serves the most amazing looking gelato) for our walk around town. And we just enjoyed sipping and exploring on our own time with no where else to be. Aren’t those kinds of vacations the best? The ones where you can take things at your own pace and just be…
