Boulder Local Fall Fashion LIFE STYLE Winter Fashion

Stripes + Army Green at Wonder Press

Whew! What a week it has been friends. Sorry for the momentary break from blogging (#gradschoollife), but I’m back today and sharing one of my newest (and favorite) spots to study in Boulder. —Wonder Press.

As you may have noticed in this post, I recently befriended a new Boulder-local photographer named Colleen. And let me just tell you guys…Colleen is awesome! Not only is she a phenomenal photographer but she’s also super down-to-earth and so much fun to hang out with. We instantly bonded over coffee one morning and we haven’t looked back since. Colleen works for a local lifestyle magazine called Boulder Lifestyle, so I’ve enlisted her help to find (and document) some of my favorite things to do and the best places to visit here in Boulder.

So without further ado, I’d like to take you on a coffee date of sorts to one of my new favorite places, a coffee/juicing gem of a shop with the chicest aesthetic called Wonder Press.

I’ve never done a full-fledged juice cleanse, or really “juiced” at all, but for someone who’s new to the scene (and who’s flavor preferences resemble a child’s) I’d definitely recommend Wonder Press for their wide range of flavors and textures. My favorites? I really love the Citrus Surprise and The Brite and would highly recommend both to any newbie. The Citrus Surprise in particular boasts of the sweetest mixture of grapefruit juice mixed with floral fragrances of oranges and lemon. And while I’m personally not a huge fan of ginger, they’ve got an extensive selection of juices seasoned with the root. Colleen couldn’t stop raving about their Spicy Greens juice as her favorite.

And if a caffeine pick-me-up is what you are in the mood for, I’d definitely recommend a latte with maple syrup added for a subtle sweet note. It’s magical to say the least.

When stepping out of the office and into a coffee shop for work, I like to be comfortable yet still stylish. I’m all about the yoga pants and oversized tee when finals roll around, but during normal graduate student operations, dressing the part helps so much in keeping my mind focused and my productivity up.

For days like these, I love throwing on a nice striped shirt with skinny jeans for a casual, no-thinking required look that gets the job done. And adding a pair of taller riding boots elevates the look without any added effort. I got these Frye boots a few years ago and still love them like I just received them in the mail yesterday. The color and overall structure are unparalleled in my opinion. Love them.

As for jewelry, I keep it fairly simple when working. No one wants their bracelets and rings getting in the way and clanking between the table and keyboard  every time you move your arm. I found this darling crystal-studded bracelet (similar) from the J. Crew clearance area a few weeks ago and it has quickly become a favorite of mine. I love that it’s got an understated edgier vibe while still being a classic piece I can dress up or down.

Another reason I love Wonder? The aesthetic. Wonder Press resides among other little shops in a strip along Pearl Street (known for it’s unique vibe). The entire store front is windows, so it’s got lots of great light for studying. It’s my version of a compromise when I’m forced to work inside but want a little taste of the great outdoors.  They’ve also go nice big tables to spread out on and comfy pillows and chairs in the cutest tie-dye and leather fabrics to get cozy in for a day-full of working. It’s such an inspiring place to work that I’ve already been there three times this week! #sorrynotsorry

With the weather in Boulder being completely unpredictable recently (it was 70 degrees one day and snowing the next), I’ve come to rely on strategic layering to keep me thermally comfortable throughout a highly variable season. As such, I never leave home without one of the most versatile pieces I own in my closet–this army green military jacket I got from Old Navy a few seasons ago. Apparently Old Navy feels just as groovy about this jacket as me because they keep bringing back this staple piece from season-to-season. Can you blame them? It’s the perfect layering piece, especially when paired over stripes and a classic pair of jeans.

And I never leave home without my trusty fitbit to track my steps. You too? Add me on fitbit if you’d like some extra motivation. (I know I would!–cupcakesandthecosmosblog@gmail.com)

As for now, I’ll continue sipping my Citrus Surprise juice (yes, I’m writing this from Wonder) and deriving away for an upcoming research meeting I’ve got. Cheers!

These photos are beautiful! This sounds great, if I’m ever in Boulder I’ll have to check it out! Also, I drink a lot of juice but I’ve never done a cleanse but want to try, I’m scared though haha!

Thank you so much, Laura! And me too! I usually have a ravenous appetite, so I’m not sure how well a total juice cleanse would go for me. Lol. But maybe sometime in the future…with some added salad as a snack or something? Does that count or is it cheating? 😛

This is such a beautiful post! She is a lovely photographer and I’m encouraged by the variety of juice options. While I’m generally not a picky person, there are just some flavors in juices that have grossed me out lol! I also love the army green with a striped tee. In fact, I wore that last weekend and now I’m trying to plan my next time, so I can space it out evenly haha!! Thanks for sharing. Your blog is awesome!

Thank you so much, Anna! I agree with your juice sentiment. Some flavors I just can’t handle haha. But I try to stick with the sweetest flavors as a compromise. And don’t you love how simple this outfit is to put together? I’m already planning my next wear for next week as well! Have a great day, girlie! <3
