Casual Jumpsuit + Graphic Tee

Happy Friday, friends! We made it. Whew! I don’t know about you, but I am ready for the weekend. Bring on all the relaxing, cozy vibes please! (…with a side of homework unfortunately…)

Actually I’m pretty excited about what Allen and I have in store for this weekend. As I mentioned in this post, I’ve been very into decluttering and downsizing what I own. Because I’ve been interning at NASA since I was a sophomore in college, I have acquired quite the collection of work clothes that no longer fit but I wasn’t sure what to do with. I’ve been taking most of my donations to Crossroads here in Boulder, but no one seems to want the more professional attire. So I did a little research and found a non-profit organization called Dress For Success in Denver that provides work attire to women in need. They take donations only on the 2nd Saturday of every month, so tomorrow Allen and I are headed for a full day of fun adventure time in Denver including breakfast at our favorite spot {Jelly Cafe}, shopping for more teeny cacti and succulents, and of course donating to a good cause (the whole reason for our “Denver Day”). At any rate, you could say I’m stoked!

Today’s outfit is a fun weekend look that I would definitely wear for exploring Denver tomorrow (if there wasn’t currently snow in the forecast). That’s the good and bad thing about living in the Denver area…one day it can be in the high 60’s and the next it can be blizzarding hard. You just never know! I actually love that the weather here keeps me on my toes. I also love that we get to enjoy the pretty snow fall bu then the next day, the roads aren’t terrible since most everything melts off so quickly. It’s a win-win in my book–the best of both worlds.

Back to today’s outfit though! I’m wearing a few new pieces from this past fall that I’m just now getting around to wearing. I blame it on the cold weather! First up is this ‘Chocoholic’ tee that is amazing (and so very me, if you know how much I love chocolate). It comes in the prettiest cobalt blue color (surprise, surprise!) and I love the cozy cotton knit material. It’s actually incredibly soft and not too form fitting. (I’m wearing a size M.) It looks like it’s sold out from J.Crew already (chocoholics unite!), but I’ve linked other graphic tees in the same style below.

If there is one piece I wear year-round and have tons of colors in, it’s the basic vneck tee (I get mine from Madewell). They are great for layering under sweaters/cardigans in the fall and winter, or wearing as is in the summer and spring. But recently I’ve been wanting to add more graphic tees into my wardrobe for a fun splash of personality. And this one was the perfect pick!

Next up, these perfect rusty red pumps from Madewell. Swoon… I actually waited to pull the trigger on these until they went on sale. So naturally, they are no longer available (sorry!).  But Madewell makes classic pumps in beautiful suede colors each season and I love that the heel is chunky and low, making walking and wearing them a breeze. Both beautiful and easy to wear? Done. I’m loving this new pair that just dropped in a pretty blue suede for spring.

I love love love the beautiful warm red color of the suede. I originally had these in mind to wear in the fall, but love them just as much with this jumpsuit for spring. They add the perfect punch of color, don’t you think?!

Ok, can we talk about this jumpsuit real quick?! I’ve been really into jumpsuits recently. I love the ease with which they make an outfit, coupled with the comfort they provide. This one is a little baggier than I’m used to, but I love the oversized casual feel it brings to the table and could definitely see myself wearing this to lounge in at a coffee shop on the weekends or to to run in errands out and about during the summer.  And I love that the charcoal gray color makes it the perfect piece to layer with bright pops of color. If charcoal gray isn’t your jam, they’ve also got a pretty pink one for spring! #hearteyes

(P.S. – I’m loving this striped one from Madewell too that doesn’t require a top underneath. The perfect one-and-done spring weekend piece.)

And what outfit is complete without a star embellished clutch?! I mean…. Anyone else in love with the star print trend coming out everywhere?! (This aerospace engineer isn’t mad about it! 😉 ). This particular velvet clutch is no longer available from Anthropologie, but J.Crew just dropped a strikingly similar one that can also be worn as a purse! And it comes in a bright blue to give a pop of color to any outfit.
