Happy Tuesday, friends! Is it Tuesday? It’s so hard for me to keep track of time when I’m not in school, especially with the holidays whipping by at an alarming rate. You too?
Today I’m sharing a New Years Eve ready look that’s both stylish and comfy.
This sequin skirt is the main player of the outfit and when I first saw it in H&M the other day, I knew it would be coming home with me to make the perfect NYE ensemble. It’s just so fun and frivolous (in a good way), don’t you think?
Needless to say, when it comes to trendy pieces that I typically can’t wear year-round, H&M is usually my place. They make good quality items at a fraction of the price of “name brand” items. And it makes sense because you really want to invest your money in the higher quality pieces that are worn on a daily basis. And this mentality is especially important to someone like me (#gradstudent) who has to live on a budget each month. Are you the same way?
At any rate, this skirt was a steal and I’m so glad I found it for the right price because it’s not only sparkly and glitzy (yay!), it’s unbelievably stretchy and comfortable (hello food baby!) and lined with a soft material that keeps it from being scratchy. The perfect sequin skirt, no?
I paired this sequin skirt with a thin black sweater that gives me warmth for the cold winter night but is also slimming and form-fitting enough to be party-ready. I wore the striped version previously here. I love that this sweater can be worn just as easily with jeans as tucked into a skirt, without being too bulky. It makes for the perfectly polished look in the day time or evening.
And because it’s NYE and it’s almost a requirement to be as sparkly and glittery as possible, I added my favorite necklace to really give the outfit a party-inspired vibe. If you don’t have any jewelry that would work well with this outfit, I also found this bedazzled black sweater that is the perfect all-in-one sweater+sparkle piece here.
And there’s nothing like a sexy heel and simple black clutch to complete the look. I kept my accessories simple to keep the outfit classy for a night out on the town. There’s nothing that says you can’t wear sequins and look polished at the same time, right? I finished off my jewelry with this sophisticated black leather watch and elegant gold bracelet.
Ready or not…New Years Eve, here I come! Have any big plans for NYE this year? I’d love to know!
